Set up Rrage on Telegram

Message Rrage from your phone, like you would a friend. About a minute. Get Telegram first if you don’t have it.

Before you start: Rrage must be installed and activated on your computer, and you need the Telegram app on your phone or computer.

Messaging

Telegram and WhatsApp sit together. Pick one to set up.

1 In Rrage, open Settings > Channels and choose Add Telegram.

Settings is the gear in the corner of the Rrage window.

2 Click Connect Telegram.

Telegram opens with a screen to create your own Rrage assistant bot.

3 Confirm the name and tap Create.

This makes a private assistant that belongs only to you.

4 Go back to Rrage.

The Telegram dot turns green and says Connected.

5 Open your new assistant in Telegram and send “Hi”.

Rrage answers from your computer. Anything it sends on your behalf waits for your approval.

Good to know
  • Rrage must be running on your computer to answer. It keeps running in the background when you close the window. Look for the icon near your clock.
  • Telegram chats with bots are not end-to-end encrypted. Don’t send anything you wouldn’t send through a normal Telegram chat.
  • Only you can talk to your assistant. Other people who find it are ignored.
If something goes wrong
  • Telegram didn’t open: install the Telegram app first, then click Connect Telegram again.
  • The dot is red: click Fix it in Rrage.
  • No reply on your phone: check that Rrage is running and your computer is online.
  • Still stuck: email our support address with your order reference.
